INSTRUMENT HYGIENE
Very high standards of instrument cleaning our now required.
We have a separate room for this process
First of all the instruments are washed in a washer disinfector, a glorified dish washer. A cold wash first, followed by a hot wash.
Then the instruments are wrapped and sterilized in a vacuum autoclave. This is considered
the best type of autoclave as it withdraws the air first before allowing the steam in, ensuring all areas are in contact with the steam. The machine prints out a report of each cycle and a daily helix test strip inside a long plastic tube confirms its efficiency.
We have two such machines in case of one failing these strict daily tests.
An ultrasonic 
cleaner is also used to keep the instruments looking like new.
